Giant Ming Dynasty Equestian soldier, c. 1500 AD!

One of a group of the finest Chinese Ming dynasty pottery figures on the world market today!

This figure is dating to the Ming dynasty around 1500 AD. and is HUGE!. It depicts a exceptionally scultured and detailed cavalry soldier. He is seated on his horse. The soldier is glaced with a fantastic lively green with beautyful age-crackles. The helmet, jacklet, face and horse are decorated in different pigment colours.

As one of the finest and most interesting Ming Dynasty figure we've handled, this figure is possibly a Persian, note the head and beard details. We believe this is a Persian or Mongolian mercernary, not a Chinese soldier. The figure is an horsearcher - a very popular soldier in the 15th. cent. AD. Also note that he has a tunic over his armour and the tunic is decorated too.

Size: This figure is among the largest Ming horsemen known and measure astonishing 41 cm. in height and about 30 cm. in length. The construction is massive and the quality worthy of a museum or a very good private collection.

Condition: Superb! Superb glossy glace and no repairs. A closed tomb-find
