A fantastic and strictly museum quality pottery female rider, dating to the Ming Dynasty, c. 1450-1550 AD. This huge mounted figure is of the finest quality there is on the market and sold here at a terrific bargain!. A mandarin lady from a high ranking family seated on a large white horse with details in glossy blue glacing. The lady is in a redish gown and with an elaborate hairstyle. The figure measure 39-40 cm. high and is c. 32 cm. long - thus one of the largest and most massive Ming dynstay figures we've ever seen. Condition: Superb! A very minor and unimportant chip to the back of the base, othervise as made more than 500 years ago. A closed tomb find. Ex. Danish Private Collection |
