Chinese CLOISONNE Incense Burner, in the form of an IBIS with brass filigree tail feathers and semi-precious stones standing a full 21 inches in height on a tri-footed round base with a diameter of 9". Condition is good, but 4/18 pieces of turquoise are missing from the tail feathers. Each feather should have 3 pieces of turquoise and all have another semi-precious stone. An unusual Chinese sang-de-boeuf glazed baluster VASE, because it was "misfired, with iridescent flecking," as per Christies, see "Asian Works of Art," catalogue, LA, 10/06/2000 Lot# 204, pg. 55.The body above a spreading foot with a long ribbed neck leading up to the flaring rim; the interior with a faint CELADON glaze. Large, 22.5" (57cms.)in height, CHINESE, VASE in baluster form. The elongated body and neck covered with a glaze of sang-de-boeuf dripping with iridescent purple, thinning to a cream tone to the edges of the flaring rim. Brown wash on the base where there is a small firing crack that does not show through on the inside. No other damage of any kind. Ships in a more than 100yr. old kiri-wood case. Two pages from a book published in Japan in 1908 were skillfully joined and hinged in Tokyo,Japan. The print depicts a rather dark skinned Sumo wrestler tangled up with his opponent whose face is obscured. Off to the side is a Kabuki-like actor with a mask (an archer) who is prodding the wrestlers. Very animated. The artist's name is "Kimustu." Condition is good, no foxing. Dimensions are 10.25" x 7.5" Circa: 1908. Matting and framing are available for a gift.

The artist, "Kikuchi, Yoshifumi," depicts a macho male counting his money before giving some to his wife who is in a subservient kneeling position, all in an interesting tatami mat room! Condition is good, no foxing. Dimensions are 10.25" x 7.25". Circa: 1908.

Three medium sized JAPANESE STONE SEALS (two of which are double-sided)from a Buddhist Temple called, "Kanzan-Ji" in Tokyo, Shimoya. They all have vermillion paste over the impressions. Three small Japanese SEALS, carved from stone. These seals came from a Buddhist Temple called "Kanzan-Ji" in Tokyo, Shimoya. The heights are 1.25" and 1 inch and 1/2." There is vermillion sealpaste over the impressions of the seals. Condition is excellent. Circa: 19th Century.

Japanese Bronze ELEPHANT sculpture skillfully depicted with a raised trunk, open mouth and spread ears, with a wooden base. The ivory tusks have been broken and repaired, otherwise the condition is good. The artist's name, "Mitsumoto" is incised on the foot (see enlargement#6)_Circa: Meiji era, 1880-1900. Dimensions are 13 inches in length and 10.5 inches in height.
