Standing in agressive postures wearing armor and flowing robes, these hand-carved wooden NIO figures from Edo era in Japan have traces of polychroming and gesso. Korean stoneware celadon BOWL with molded floral design in the cavetto, covered for the most part in a rich soft pale sea-green celadon glaze inside and out. Northern Thai blue & cream pottery octagonal VASE with lotus leaves on the upright portion of the vase and alternating geometric and vegetal patterns on the eight sides of the body.
