Japanese underglaze Blue & White porcelain DISH with floral design in cavetto and floral designs in lappets around the rim. This dish was exhibited in the Kyushu Ceramics Museum. Purchased @ Christie's in London. Condition is perfect - NO chips, cracks, frits, restorations or hairline cracks! Circa: late 17th Century. Diameter is 7 inches or 17.8 cm.

Japanese Ivory Netsuke of a Man beating on a mokyugo bell (wooden bell for a Buddhist monastery) standing in his kimono and zori sandals. Wonderful detail, even on the soles of his feet! (see picture # 5) Purchased at Christie's in Amsterdam, Holland, see "Asian Ceramcis and Works of Art," 8 May 2001, Lot 50, pg. 22. Condition is perfect and of course the man can stand unassisted. Height is 2.1 inches (5.2 cms.) Circa: Meiji era (1868-1900.)

Japanese Blue & White porcelain PLATE depicting a contended farmer under a wide brimmed hat, wearing his straw "raincoat," and his straw "zori," (sandals,) leaning on his hoe as he gazes at the oversize bamboo shoots in his bamboo grove! All very peaceful and soothing. This plate has a slightly scalloped rim and many cracks and breaks which have been repaired. Pair of Japanese Satsuma BOWLS with underglaze colbalt blue MYTHICAL ANIMALS inside cavetto. There is a "kara shishi," or lion-dog in the center, a "kirin," a "ryu" or dragon and a "hoo" or phoenix (bird) All with real gold accent marks painted in straiteted lines inside. The exterior is a scrolling peony design with lappets above the footrim. PAIR of Blue & White Japanese porcelain PLATES depicting an older Monk standing with a younger playful apprentice behind his back. All skillfully rendered in underglaze cobalt blue. There is a scrolling floral motif on the back of each plate. Condition: there is a rim chip on each plate, one with a resultant 3/4" hairline crack. Circa: Meiji era, 1868-1912. Diameter is 7.5 inches.

Pure white glaze. Jiajing six characters mark in underglaze blue and of the period, 1522-1566. Ching-te Chen kilns. Ming Dynasty. There is a yellow and red CK label marked # 695 on the base. Two Seto-ware (ORIBE) earthenware Japanese TSUITEKI (Waterdroppers) of CATS. Two (one standing with the paw in the air and a bell around it's neck and another one sitting on all four paws, are dated 1740-1790 or Mid-Edo Era. Conditon is generally good. Some pitting, and some "kami-kizu," or "Kiln-errors." Dimensions of all are about 3" x 2". Circa: 18th Century. EDO era.

Korean 10-sided "HONEY POT" or "seokganju" or "oja" are the most uniquely 'Korean' of pots. This particular example (#3 of 5) is larger than the other three and is darker in color. It's base is also less indented than the other 5 honey pots available on this site. This comes with its original lid.
