A portable opium scale with a silver weight pan, and a weight and metal inlayed calibrated marks along the length of the rod. Some damage to pan and threads connecting pan to measuring rod. All in a wooden case with 8 different Kanji letters carved into the sliding wooden case cover. 14" inches in length (Outside of case) Rod is 12" in length.
Very interesting and it's functional!
18" x 4.25" x 1.33" wooden with wood beads on metal rods. 2/3 of columns are labeled in Japanese on ivory strip with Indian ink.
Very nice hard wood box. Some chips and scrapes as expected with an item this age.
