Korean 10-sided "HONEY POT" or "seokganju" or "oja" are the most uniquely 'Korean' of pots. This particular example (#3 of 5) is larger than the other three and is darker in color. It's base is also less indented than the other 5 honey pots available on this site. This comes with its original lid. Korean faceted (11 sides) "Honey" POT with matching cover are the most uniquely "Korean" of pots! Also know as "seoganju" or "oja" in Japanese. Condition is good, some glaze bursts and bubbles which is typical with graduations of rich brown glaze. Height is 8.5 inches or 21.5 cm. Circa: 18th/19th Century.

Chinese porcelain blue (cobalt) monochrome glazed "tear-drop" elongated VASE of ovoid form and a tall slender tapering neck covered in a thick blue glaze. Ming 17th Century. The vase is of a dark rich, natural cobalt blue color thinning to a mushroom colored rim. The condition is good, minor glaze scratches, however, the neck is slightly misshaped. Korean faceted (10 sided) "Honey" POT with cover from the North-Eastern corner of Korea (near Manchuria) made for kitchen ware in the 18th/19th Century. Korean celadon BOWL with three (3) inlaid chrysanthemums and three (3) inlaid concentric rings in the cavetto. The Chrysanthemum is a symbol of well-being and abundance because of the chrysanthemum flower's many petals. Condition: There is a chip, one centimeter at the widest on the inside of the rim (visible in picture #1) There is also some kiln "grit" and some protrusions in the glaze on the back of the bowl which are also visible. Korean late 12thC/early 13th C. celadon BOWL with a molded lotus design. The lotus is the symbol of rebirth and purity because the lotus "grows in the muck and shows it's face to the sun!" Korean CELADON BOWL with a molded lotus flower design. Although this looks to be damaged in the pictures, it is not. The "rim chip" is glazed over and even though there are some protrusions which are the result of firing inconsistencies in the kiln because of the clay and the slip applied....this is an authentic affordable Korean late 12th century - Koryo celadon BOWL. Dimensions: 6.5" diameter or 16 cms. Circa: late 12th Century.

POR with provenance - MING 

Chinese stonewear Longquan celadon JAR in baluster shape with elongated shoulders and incised band of linked coins on the upper portion and an incised floral design of Peonies below. Very beautiful pale green-bluish celadon glaze. The unglazed portion of the vase and base and foot rim burnt brick red. Purchased at Sotheby's 22 March 2011 in New York City, provenance, the J.T. Tai & Co. Collection. Height is 9.5 inches or 24.1 cm. Condition report available upon request. Ming Dynasty.
