Price upon Request - Provenance, Lot #386 from Christie's in NYC, auction 9/20/2005
The slender body covered on the exterior with a green glaze suffused with dark crackle, while the mouth rim, interior of the neck and base are covered with a white glaze suffused with dark crackle, the edge of the everted mouth rim covered with a brown wash. Provenance: #29 from the Dr. I. Rodriguez collection of Chinese Ceramics. Height is 9.5 inches. Condition report on request.

Chinese porcelain VASE in rouleau form with cylindrical body and neck with a slightly expanded mouth. A scene (in underglaze colbalt blue) of two scholars reading under trees near their homes, under trees with towering mountains in the background; a motif first copied from an earlier scroll painting. Pair of Chinese porcelain BOWLS with STEMBOWL Covers decorated in polychrome enamels with HORSES against a persimon-red ground. Nien-Hao ( seal mark) of "Ta Ching Tung-Chih Nien Chih," Dynasty (1862-1875) and of the period. Condition: One is perfect, both top and bottom, the other has a rim chip in the bottom and the top is fine. Dimensions are 4.8 inches (15cms) in height and 4.1" (10.l4cms )in diameter.
Pair of baluster chaped Chinese porcelain Vases of a scholar and servant in a garden; with lids. There is a spurious Ming Dynasty, 6 character Reign mark in underglaze blue on the rim of each vase. The Nien Hao: Ta Ming Wan-Li-Nien-Chieh (1573-1619) but actually these are 18th/19th Century. Condition is good, but there are two hairlines on rin & shoulder of one vase. The other vase/lids are perfect. Dimensions are almost 5.5" (17cms.)in height x 3.33" (8.4cms.) in diameter.
