Chinese CHIZOU stonewear BOWL, TANG Dynasty, a shallow bowl with rounded sides, everted lip & foot-rim. Exterior and foot glazed in dusk brown, interior in greenish tinted white, minutely crackled with unglazed lip. Dimensions: 4.5 inches diameter or 11.5 cms. height is 1 5/8 inches or 4.1 cms. SOLD - from Christie's Beverly Hills,CA "Asian Works of Art" Sale, October 5, 2000, Lot #192.  

This Incense burner (censer) of squat proportions with a slightly everted rim and two stylized fish handles to the side is a grey buff stoneware with a blue-grey glaze, what the Chinese call "ge-yu." Kangxi period (1662-1722) This item was bought in Christie's "Asian Works of Art," auction, 10/5/2000 in L.A. Lot # 192, page 53. 5.75 inch diameter, or 14.6 cms. Chinese CHIZOU white slip decorated stonewear EWER, SONG Dynasty with its trumpet neck, handle and spout covered with a white clay slip beneath a colorless glaze, the rim now bound with copper, the canted foot finished with a recessed base. Chinese stonewear QINGBAI, Song Dynasty, BOX and COVER, octagonal with ribbed sides, flat base and convex cover. Molded design of peony and sagittaria flowers. The glaze has pooled on the cover and produced a deeper ice-blue tone. The peony flower is symbolic of nobility & wealth. Carl Kempe Collection of Chinese Ceramics # 52, a Green-glazed EWER, Tang Dynasty, 9th Century, "Yo-chou-yao."
