Two Japanese STONE SEALS with a fully carved "Guardian" (Dog-Lion)on the top of each seal. Both figures are skillfully rendered. Condition is excellent. No cracks or chips. Circa: late 19th Century. Height is 1.75" x 7/8 x 1/4 and 1.75" x 1/2 x 1/2."

$240 for 3 seals from a Buddhist Temple named Kanzan-Ji in Tokyo, Shimoya. 

Three large Japanese SEALS, two stone, and one wood. Two of the seals have covers in brocade. One of the seals has an engraving on it. The last seal which is 1.5" x 1.5" has a seal on BOTH sides. Condition is excellent for all three seals. Circa: 19th Century. Dimensions of the two with covers are both 1.75" in height by 1.25" x 1.25."

Three small Japanese SEALS, carved from stone. These seals came from a Buddhist Temple called "Kanzan-Ji" in Tokyo, Shimoya. The heights are 1.25" and 1 inch and 1/2." There is vermillion sealpaste over the impressions of the seals. Condition is excellent. Circa: 19th Century.

Three medium sized JAPANESE STONE SEALS (two of which are double-sided)from a Buddhist Temple called, "Kanzan-Ji" in Tokyo, Shimoya. They all have vermillion paste over the impressions. Condition is excellent. Dimensions of the two double-sided seals are approx. 1" x 1" x 1" and the other is 1.5" x .75" x .5" Circa: 19th Century.

Standing, SIGNED by Masamitsu, Japanese Ivory NETSUKE depicting Okame with long hair holding an upturned (phallic) mushroom. Purchased at Christies in Amsterdam, see catalog, "Asian Ceramics and Works of Art," dated 8 May 2001, Lot #50, pg. 22. Condition: Perfect. Height is 1.6 inches or 4.1 cms. Circa: Meiji era, late 19th Century.

Japanese Ivory Netsuke of a Man beating on a mokyugo bell (wooden bell for a Buddhist monastery) standing in his kimono and zori sandals. Wonderful detail, even on the soles of his feet! (see picture # 5) Purchased at Christie's in Amsterdam, Holland, see "Asian Ceramcis and Works of Art," 8 May 2001, Lot 50, pg. 22. Condition is perfect and of course the man can stand unassisted. Height is 2.1 inches (5.2 cms.) Circa: Meiji era (1868-1900.)
