KOREAN (Joseon Dynasty) iron-glazed facetted (11 sided) porcelain JAR with upright, extended walls divided into eleven facets above the inset, circular foot and below the slanted shoulders with a wavy line, and applied with an iron glaze pooling yellowish green, the mouth and foot rims unglazed. A rare Korean octagonal porcelain Blue & White BOTTLE (vase) decorated with an autumn flower. Yi Dynasty, 18th/19th Century. Condition: There are general overall glaze scratches and some rubbing on the ribs in addition to some small hairline glaze cracks about 3/4 of an inch (2 cm) in length both inside and outside the neck rim and there are some "glaze pulls" that occurred during the firing process near the base on 4 of the 8 sides. Unusual Stonewear, KOREAN underglaze Red & Blue OIL LAMP in teapot form with brocade ball decoration and animalistic finial on cover which is a separate piece. Condition is quite good, no obvious chips, cracks or restoration apparent. Height is 5.5 inches or 14 cms., the diameter at the shoulder is 4.5 inches or 12 cms. Circa: late 19th Century, perhaps earlier.

Korean porcelain figure of a seated PRIEST with an off-white finely crackled glaze. The priest holding a palm frond fan in right hand and a teapot in left hand, his tongue moves (from side to side) Great expressiveness. There is a four character impressed mark on the inside of the ceramic.(see photo #5) Dimensions: 3.5"=ht. x 4"=width x 3"=depth. There is some damage to the spout of the teapot (see photo #2). Circa: Choson period, late 19th C.

Korean celadon BOWL with three (3) inlaid chrysanthemums and three (3) inlaid concentric rings in the cavetto. The Chrysanthemum is a symbol of well-being and abundance because of the chrysanthemum flower's many petals. Condition: There is a chip, one centimeter at the widest on the inside of the rim (visible in picture #1) There is also some kiln "grit" and some protrusions in the glaze on the back of the bowl which are also visible. Korean late 12thC/early 13th C. celadon BOWL with a molded lotus design. The lotus is the symbol of rebirth and purity because the lotus "grows in the muck and shows it's face to the sun!" There are a few imperfections in the glaze which are visible in the pictures, and the back of the bowl has been "misfired" Still, no chips, cracks or restorations on this 700 year old authentic example of Korean Korai celadon ware!
