Very attractive earthenware Vietnamese JAR from a old woman potter in a small village famous for its pottery near Hoi Anh (mid-coast of Vietnam) with a light yellowish-brown glaze and impressed coin design on the shoulder! Finely engraved with a scrolling foliate on the shoulder between an egg & dart borders; with 6 alternating cartouches of plum trees and Buddhist symbols. LArge BRASS BOWL (suitable for fruit) from the Indonesian Island of Java, with no design. Diameter is 10 1/8" at the rim and 5 3/4" diameter at the bottom. The height is 4 1/2". There is a "beaten metal" look to the sides with a small 1 1/2" crack near the bottom (see pix #5) which makes this bowl not suitable for liquids. Circa: 1930's.
