Large Japanese Imari, Studio,baluster shaped VASE and domed LID with a golden "Shishi" (lion-dog) on the top. Condition, excellent. No chips or cracks or repairs. Height 18 inches and diameter at the widest part (shoulder) is almost 10 inches. Beautiful orange and blue and gold colors. floral motif. Circa 1930's.

Japanese, Earthenware Misozashi with Lid and impressed Kiln Mark on base.(6"x 5.5" diameter) There is also brown bowl (3.5" x 6") for the tea leaves after the tea is made; and an off-white tea bowl with a green bamboo leaf decoration. A PAIR of Chinese hand embroidered bucolic scenes framed with an antique gold faux bamboo and glare-proof glass. One scene is of two women in a house in garden with rocks and trees and the other is of a man fishing and a woman farming with bamboo, pine and pavillions. All the colors are soft and muted. Good detail. The borders are of floral displays interspersed with buddhist scrolls and sutras. Condition is excellent. 20.5 inches in height x 16.75 inches in width. Circa 1900-1920.

It's suitable either as a floor lamp or a table lamp. Japanese painting of a Chinese Motif, "Life's Pleasures," executed in colored inks on a brown silk medium. The 8 pleasure's are (starting in the lower right hand corner and going clockwise,) music, reading poetry, playing with a ball with friends, calligraphy, catching and releasing a bird, flower arranging, painting landscapes, playing the game "Go." Japanese Bronze Buddhist Temple Lantern wired as an electrical lamp. Nice dark patina a result of true oxidation that has changed the molecular structure over time. early Meiji Era 1870-1890's. Height is 17.5 inches x 7.5 inch diameter.

Two Japanese ARITA porcelain "Suisaka" style flower VASES with a rich underglaze colbalt blue. One is slightly larger than the other, though the shape and glaze are the same. Condition of one is excellent, no chips, cracks or fritting.The second has some "potting flaws," around the lip. Height is about 6 inches. Circa: Edo era, 17th - 18th C. See Christie's, London, Sale # 5968, November 4, 2009, Lot # 264 for similar ceramic "flask."

Japanese SETO-WARE earthenware VASE well potted and covered in a rich chocolate brown "Kymer-type" glaze. There is a small protrusion(what the Japanese call a "Kama-kizu," or Kiln error by God) about the size of a penny (see enlargement #3)on the upper cavetto. No cracks or chips or fritting. Circa 1900-1920. Height is 8 inches and the diameter at the top is 4 inches.

Authentically reproduced in the same method as used 350 years ago; Japanese NABESHIMA "Kyo-yaki Kabin" (flower vase) in rectangular form with a triangular cut in the top; with four raised feet and kiln mark in underglaze blue on the bottom. Floral design. Height is 9.5 inches x 3" x 3".In a signed wooden kiri wood box. Circa: 1960's. Condition is perfect.
