Chinese CHIZOU white slip decorated stonewear EWER, SONG Dynasty with its trumpet neck, handle and spout covered with a white clay slip beneath a colorless glaze, the rim now bound with copper, the canted foot finished with a recessed base. Cizhou wares were usually thrown on a wheel which was made from a large and heavy stone and marks on the wares indicate that they were thrown very quickly. Chinese copper red glazed ovoid VASE, 18th Century, of compressed globular form with a tall,waisted neck, covered on the exterior with a deep crimson red layer thinning to a pale cream white around the rim, the interior and the recessed base covered with a colorless glaze marked with a dense web of pale russet-stained craze lines. The slightly flared bowl supported on a hollow stem with slightly splayed foot, the interior decorated with a floral medallion and two single underglaze blue lines, covered overall with an appealing "mutton-fat" white glaze, extending down the interior of the stem, leaving the conical-shaped foot rim unglazed and burnt to a mottled fawn color. Japanese wooden ABACUS extremely well constructed with 27 bamboo rods and 164 wooden beads to do the calculations! All in a sturdy, yet artful black wooden frame. These abacus are great gifts for the engineer or mathematician in your family! Becoming more and more difficult to find! Condition is perfect....very functional. Japanese porcelain "Bud Vase" with underglaze blue and orange, gold and pale green enamels and a six (6) character "reign mark" on the base. There are three panels with a dragon in each section. Well potted, very attractive for a single flower! Condition is perfect. Height is 3 inches (7.6 cms.) and the width is 3.75 inches (9.5 cms.) Circa: 1950-60's.

Dark brown Japanese wooden lacquer circular CHAIRE or (tea container)with a simple (shibui) five line design on both the top and sides of the lid and repeated again twice on the lower portion of the chaire. Japanese CHAIRE or (Tea storage container) in porcelain with a dark brown glaze and yellowish highlights the thick glaze ending neatly above the foot with a "swirl" in the base's biscuit! Topped with an ivory cap (and gold foil) all in a faded silk orange and gold bag in a kiriwood box with an inscription and orange seal mark. Height 3.5 inches (9 cms.) Condition is perfect. Circa: 1912-1920.

Japanese VASE in square form with a circular top and butterflies. There are alternating dragons and Phoenix birds & peony flowers on the side panels on an orange background with some gold enamel! There is a four character underglaze mark on the bottom. This vase was probably used for a single flower. Condition is perfect. Height is 4 inches (10 cms.) and width is 3.25 inches or (8.3 cms.) Circa: 1960's.
