One Complete set (5 bowls and lids ) of Japanese orange LACQUER BOWLS and LIDS. The covers are beautifully painted in gold with peony flowers and leaves with a single Shibui butterfly. There are some small chips on the edges of some of the bowls and lids, but the condition is very good overall. Suitable for use as a "miso
soup" bowl or as a decorative accent. Circa 1900-1920. Height with lid is 3.5" and diameter is 4.5 inches.

The largest, diameter of 10 inches or 25.4 cms,of a set of three (3) JAPANESE Ceremonial LACQUER BOWLS, with an image of the God, "DAIKOKU-Sama," of the God that makes all things possible...with his magic hammer, in gold. There is two small spots on the rim which were attempted to be repaired and show a lighter color of lacquer than the overall color, and the face of the God is worn and a little fuzzy; otherwise, this bowl is in pretty good shape overall.
