Pair Japanese IMARI porcelain VASES/19thC. Christies
These Japanese IMARI matching baluster vases, circa 1890's are in absolutely perfect condition. Purchased @ Christie's in Amsterdam,(see Lot #120, Pg. 38, "Asian Ceramics and Works of Art," 8 May 2001.) Decorated with 4 shaped panels enclosing alternately a garden scene with song birds, and two dragons contesting the flaming pearl amidst clouds and foliage, enclosed by washed-blue bands below a dense foliate ground ro to the shoulder and the slightly flaring rim. Height is 10 inches(26.2cms) with a 6 inch diameter at the shoulders.
