| Chinese porcelain blue (cobalt) monochrome glazed "tear-drop" elongated VASE of ovoid form and a tall slender tapering neck covered in a thick blue glaze. Ming 17th Century. The vase is of a dark rich, natural cobalt blue color thinning to a mushroom colored rim. The condition is good, minor glaze scratches, however, the neck is slightly misshaped. The base is also glazed in cobalt blue. Height is 11 1/4 inches or 28.3 cm. Purchased in London, England from Christie's Lot # 548, May 11, 2011. Condition: a small (approx. 5 cm) crack to the footrim. | ||
