| Burmese COVERED MONK'S BOWL with LID and INSIDE TRAY and Black lacquer STAND. This lacquerware bowl is not only beautifully proportioned, but it is made from WOVEN BAMBOO, rather than the typical COILED bamboo, which gives it more strength and beauty because the pattern is discernable under the layers of cinnabar lacquer! The stand is also made from woven bamboo! Condition, good overall, there are a few small "nicks," about the size of a matchhead on the lid. There is one spot on the stand, (see enlargement #6). Dimensions are 11" in height with stand x 12" diameter. The Monk's bowl itself measures, 7" in height x 12" diameter. Circa early 20th Century. | ||
