| Esoteric Japanese Shinto scroll PAINTING, has a male and female monkey and chickens in the foreground bracketed by ogres; with Mother and Father figures left and right of center; the main figure in the center elevated on a dais, with the sun or moon above! Condition is poor. There are losses, especially in the lower right hand figure (see picture #4) and some water damage in the upper right area of the scroll mounting (not the picture itself) I would recommend, framing the picture only! Circa: late 19th Century. Dimensions overall are 50.5" x 13.25" of painting itself, 22.5" x 9.5". | ||
