An interesting Korean White ware vase often produced during the Joseon Period which ranges from the 15-16th century up to the early part of the 20th century. The styles, glazes, and forms were often favored by the Japanese during the 17th century and later in the 20th century and with the mingei movement in the 1950s, many Japanese collected it for its utilitarian and artistic simplicity Condition wise: There are hairline cracks around the round body of the vase, it is not know whether the pieces was restored once in its lifetime or those are kiln cracks. There are two smudge spots or sections where there was either originally something attached to the vase or the way the vase was handled when it was glazed created these marks. There are no damages to the mouth of the vase. Size: Height 8.6 inches or 21.84 cm and the body width: 4.7 inches or 11.94 cm. |
