Its body covered with its young, the intricately carved mythical beast sits astride the top of the censer, the bottom carved with taoist masks and flanked on either side with handles upon which sit other young from the parent, two hoops hanging from the handles, the censer resting on three legs carved with lion masks, the censer washed in brown. Early 20th C. 4 1/2 in. high. 5 in. across.
Provenance: Wooster, Massachusetts estate Condition excellent. Except for a small chip on the ear of the mythical beast, no breaks, cracks, chips or other damages.
