A red silk satin robe with satin stitch and heavy gold couching with dragons and auspicious symbols. Purportedly made for the Dragon Boat Festival (The 3rd largest festival on the Chinese calendar)The piece has a padded lining as well as a silk one, which has caused it to pull away in some areas of the sleeve and neck (indicated in photos)The exterior of the textile is in excellent condition. China Turn of the century. Width across shoulder 62 1/2 inches, Length 36 inches.
