| A veneer decoration of cutting patterns of tortoise and brass on to wood, with either as a base. A fine technique perfected by Andre Boulle 1642 1732, ebeniste to Louis XIV. This piece of a mid 19th century version with a red foil back on the tortoise and with side mounted facial masks.
