This is a very fine Japanese Bizen tokkuri (sake bottle) by Fujiwara Yu (1932-2001). Fujiwara Yu was designated Ningen Kokuho (Living National Treasure) in 1996. He was the first born son of the former Bizen Living National Treasure Fujiwara Kei (1899-1983). This tokkuri is 4 7/8" in height and the mouth is 1 15/16" in diameter (from edge to edge) and the foot or base is 1 3/4" in diameter. The colors created during the long firing are exquisite.
