Directly from Jerusalem, RARE, ancient biblical Iron Age II pottery olive oil storage jar with a juglet. Nicely made in a huge graceful body with 3 handles and a spout. The mouth of the spout served as a seat for a dipper-jugle, in order to catch and return to the vessel any liquid dripping from the juglet after use. Ridged neck and handle drawn from the ridge to the shoulder.
Ancient Egyptian elegant cosmetic vessel, in slender form with a shaped rim, tapering to a narrow base. Artfully exploiting the banding in the stone.
Excellent surface preservation.
