Directly from Jerusalem, you are considering an extremely rare biblical Iron Age painted pottery oil lamp. Wheel-made, hollow trumpet-shaped base with seven wide pushed in V-shaped spouts, reddish/brownish slip with traces of burning Iron Age II, 1000 - 800 BC "Time of the Kings of ancient Israel Comment: This type of oil lamp may have been placed on each of the ten lampstands of the tenth century BCE First Temple, which Solomon built. As Sussman explains, "In Zechariah 4, the prophet [in his vision of a future temple] describes a gold lamp stand. The lamps on it are seven in number, and the lamps above it have seven spouts. The word used for spouts, mutzakot (mutzakah, singular) is the noun form of the verb ytzq" (1985, p. 44).
