This Chinese biscuit water dropper is enamelled in egg & spinach glazes and depicts the form of a pumpkin with trailing vines and leaves. The spout is finely modeled on a interesting grasshopper. The stem shaped lid has two lugs to help it lock in position. On the base of the pumpkin three stilt marks can be found. 19th century Qing.
condition good for it's age, the tip of the spout and the right hand legs have had some professional restoration work done to them and there is a glaze skip on the body where it has touched something while in the kiln which can be seen in the last photograph.
