Talk about a breathtaking piece of sculpture. Its easy to get lost in looking at these lovely artifacts as "static" figures; simply a depiction of a male or female. However, when looking at this wonderful Ixtlan del Rio piece, the first item of note is the unusually large child. Generally, these Nayarit sculptures have smaller children (when present at all).
