What a wonderful and ancient piece of Christian history. A stunning Ethiopian, coptic "Bible". I wonder if one of these will turn up on the series LOST someday. Original leather caae. 154 keaves, 304 pages, written on vellum and hand bound into the binding. Each page is scripted by hand! Beautiful World Map by noted French cartographer, Dezauche. This map is quite large at 18" x 26" and nicely matted and framed in a custom gold-leaf frame which is much larger. The map displays the United States (only established a few years before the map) and explorer Capt Cook's tracts through the pacific.
