Very nice detailed amulet of a Standing Bes. Mounted on old collection stand with plate. Bes was the god of music and dance, the god of war and slaughter, and a destroying force of nature. He was also a protector of children. Bes is most likely of equatorial African origin, although some think he is Semitic (Middle Eastern). Bes was usually portrayed as a dwarf with a large head. Overseer - Shabti of Ta-baket-n-chonsu Deir El Bahri / cache 2. Ta-Baket-n-chonsu, as evidenced by their coffin in Vienna, many Shabtis and a papyrus. She was a singer of Amun-Re and musician of the goddess Mut in Thebes in the 3rd. Intermediate Period. Her name means "The servant of the Chonsu". The sistrum was called shesheset by the ancient Egyptians and was a favored instrument in many religious ceremonies and rites, especially those associated with Hathor.

Turquoise green glazed faience tile. Rectangular with slightly concave obverse, further rectangular protrusion on the reverse, pierced for attachment. These tiles were among the first objects made of faience in ancient Egypt. King Djoser had several underground rooms decorated with these tiles.
