Ancient Egyptian green faience fragment of sistrum, showing the goddess Hathor on both sides. Flanked by cobra's. Nice details of hair, ears and facial features.Time; c.1000 B.C.Measures; 6,0 x 5,0 cm.Provenance; Ex. Moustaki, Ex. R.Gill Esq.collection. The sistrum was called shesheset by the ancient Egyptians and was a favored instrument in many religious ceremonies and rites, especially those associated with Hathor.
