A beautiful Moche III marine motif bottle from Peru, ca. 200 - 450 AD. This fine vessel is 8-1/2” high and is decorated with a pair of nicely detailed crayfish, executed in red over cream slip. The chamber is decorated with dot designs in a diamond pattern. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits.

A fine Moche phytomorphic vessel from Peru, ca. 400 – 700 AD. This large vessel with widely flared spout is 7” long, 6” high and depicts a melon. The red slip is highly burnished, accented with buff stripes and shows mineral deposits and root marks. In excellent condition.

A matching pair of Gallinazo-Viru shell shell effigies from Peru, ca. 1 – 100 AD. These lovely vessels are 6-1/2” high, 5” in diameter and are decorated with fine negative resist painted designs. The orange slip is burnished and shows light mineral deposits. Both are in exceptional condition. Matched pairs are rare, especially with individually modeled Viru ceramics.

An excellent Maya figural vessel from Guatemala, ca. 500 - 800 AD. This great little pitcher is 3-3/4” high and depicts the Wind God. His cheeks are characteristically puffed out and the ears are perforated. The red slip shows good mineral deposits. Great example!

An exceptional Gallinazo-Viru single-spout bottle from Peru, ca. 1 - 100 AD. This unusual avian form has a 6" diameter and depicts a duck. The head is finely formed, with details deeply incised, the wings and tail feathers are molded in high relief or added as appliqués. In excellent condition, with mineral deposits creating a wonderful texture on the nicely burnished slip. Rare type!

A rare Chavin portrait jar from Peru, ca. 1200 – 200 AD. This outstanding Cupisnique type example is 4-1/2” in diameter and depicts an individual with an incised coif surrounding the chamber. The incisions are highlighted with red pigment. The slightly asymmetrical facial features are created by hand modeling and skillful appliqué workmanship, the combination of which result in a face that is unusually expressive for the type. In exceptional condition.

An adorable Colima avian vessel from West Mexico, ca. 250 BC – 300 AD. This wonderful Comala style effigy vessel is 6-1/2” high, 7” wide and depicts a pair of conjoined ducks. They are nicely detailed, with wings on the sides and two-tone red slip. An excellent example of the type, highly burnished, with nice mineral deposits evident.

A set of Chimu silver uncas from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. These rare silver ornaments with repouse designs were used to decorate the mantles of members of the elite. There is a total of 14, the large rectangular pieces range from 2-1/2" to 3-3/4" in length, the round ones are 2-1/4" in diameter and the small ones are 1-1/4" long. The 10 large examples are all embossed with a variety of designs. All are perforated for attachments. Mounted on black cloth for easy framing. ...click for details
