A rare Huastec plate from Mexico, ca. 200 500 AD. This superb example is 11 in diameter and features a pair of Supernatural creatures engaged in combat. One is wearing a feather headdress, while his opponent has now faded. The central scene is surrounded by multiple bands of geometric and linear designs. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits and root marks.

An excellent Chimila style figural urn from the Rio Magdalena area of Colombia, ca. 1000 1500 AD. This adorably rotund buff terracotta vessel is 7-3/4 high and is supported on a flared pedestal base. A masterful appliquι technique was used to create the facial features, arms and jewelry of the figure, which projects a feeling of serenity. A crown tops the head. A choice Moche canchero from Peru, ca. 200 - 500 AD. This beautiful ceremonial dipper is 10-1/2 long and is decorated with the superbly detailed head of a monkey deity. The lentoid chamber is 6-3/4 in diameter and is decorated with a star design surrounding the opening, perhaps representing Venus. An exceptional example with strong paint and mineral deposits.

An exceptional Maya polychrome jar from Honduras, ca. 400 700 AD. This two-handled vessel is 6-1/2 in diameter and is decorated with three panels of large birds, most likely Oscillated Turkeys. The shoulder of this corseted vessel features disembodied deity eyes, while the rim is painted with simple linear and geometric designs. The concave underside is painted blood red. A rare type in perfect condition, good mineral deposits.
