A superb Shipibo figural jar from the Upper Amazon region of Brazil or Peru, ca. 1940’s. It is 7" high, 6-1/2" in diameter and has a wonderful face incorporated into the broad spout. The influence of Andean ancestors is clearly recognizable in the facial characteristics and incorporation of tumi-shaped design elements.
