A fine strand of ancient spindle whorls from various Peruvian cultures. The strand contains 43 whorls, a wide variety of nice examples including clay, copper, shell and stone types. A nice collection with many unusual types.
This lovely Narino shell-form whistle is from the Tuza cultural complex of Colombia, ca. 1250 - 1500 AD. It is 3-3/4” long and is decorated with a pair of animated felines. Vivid chestnut-brown paint over cream slip, strong mineral deposits.

A superb Guangala sello (roller seal) from Ecuador, ca. 500 BC - 100 AD. This choice solid example is 2-1/4” long, 1” in diameter and is decorated with two mythical zoomorphic creatures. Rare type in excellent condition.
A hollow sello (roller seal) from the Jamacoaque culture of Ecuador, ca. 300 BC - 400 AD. This choice example is 2-5/8” long, 1-3/8” in diameter and is deeply incised with crisp geometric designs.
