An exceptional Lambayeque (Sican) orangeware bottle from Peru, ca. 700 – 1350 AD. This gorgeous example is 7-3/4” high and features a spout decorated with a pair of mythical creatures, most likely representing the Moon Dragon. The chamber is lavishly decorated with intricate designs associated with fertility and water worship characteristic of this type. In perfect condition, highly burnished, nice mineral deposits.

A marvelous Nicoya Polychrome tripod bowl from Costa Rica, ca. 800 - 1200 AD. This exceptional vessel is 6-1/2" in diameter and is elaborately decorated with two panels depicting finely detailed two-headed jaguars, separated by two panels representing the two-headed monster motif, an identifying characteristic of this type. This classic San Jose de Moro type bottle is 10” high and is decorated with two elaborate depictions of an eagle drinking human blood from a cup. Beautifully detailed, strong paint, good deposits. A wonderful Nazca Trophy head cylinder vase from Peru, ca. 200 – 500 AD. This unusually large example is 9-1/4” high and is decorated with a lower register of trophy heads, including two that have a rarely seen open mouth. The majority of the chamber is covered with linear designs and the rim band uses step pyramid symbols to create an interesting pattern. Intact, minor rim wear, good mineral deposits.

A beautiful Maya plate from the Peten region of Guatemala, ca. 550 - 700 AD. This 10" diameter classic tripod example has the serrated flange and rattles built into the feet. The center is decorated with a large glyph emblem denoting the four cardinal points, surrounded by a decorative band and additional geometric designs on the shoulder. Intact, with strong bright paint, good deposits and only minor pitting.
