A superb Maya figure from the Pacific Slope region of Guatemala, ca. 500 –800 AD. This seated female is 6-3/4” high and is wearing a layered skirt, necklace and complex ear ornaments. The sides of the headdress are perforated and at one time probably had feathers attached. A lovely classic Maya face, nice cream and red paint remnants and extensive dendrites make this a wonderful example.
