A lovely Roman free-blown glass "tear vial", 1st - 3rd century, 5-5/8" long, 1/2" in diameter. It is delicately made with a flared neck and rolled lip. This fine greenish-blue container would have been used for perfumed oils, there is actually no evidence that these were uses to collect or hold tears. In perfect condition, with areas of encrustation and gold iridescence.
