A superb Bangu-Bangu face mask from the Congo region, 10-1/2” high. The top half of this finely carved mask retains much of its kaolin pigment, while the lower half is blackened and surrounded by a beard. In excellent condition, showing signs of wear. Collected in the late 1950’s or early ‘60’s |
