Moche Hunting Scene
A marvelous Moche IV hunting scene from Peru, ca. 450 – 550 AD. This superb molded bottle is 8” high and depicts a group of hunters chasing deer. The men are armed with a variety of weapons and are depicted running. The deer hunt is an important motif depicted throughout Moche art and the figures are wonderfully detailed on this vessel. Additionally, a large deer adorno graces the spout, an unusual feature for Moche bottles. In exceptional condition, with nice mineral deposits.
