Most likely from Salem, or the North Shore of Massachusetts, this table is rather verbosely referred to as a square top table with elliptical and hollow-fronts, elliptical and hollow-ends, and ovolu corners. A very fine New York City mahogany sideboard or server of diminutive proportions, associated with the workshop of Duncan Phyfe, circa 1810, with well-carved lion paw feet, below water-leaf carved details and dazzling crotch mahogany veneers. Excellent surface and patination. The crest rail has stop fluted pilasters and the case has two candleslides to accommodate lighting devices. Full documentation and price pending. An unusual and rare Southern Federal Pembroke table, Richland or Kershaw County, likely Columbia or possibly Camden, circa 1790-1810. The table has an old finish and retains the original “stamped” brass hardware. The top is beautifully grained and features “ovolu” corners with a three line ebony and satinwood inlay which is repeated on the tables’ skirt and drawer front.
