A pair of Chippendale mahogany “Gothic” back side chairs, circa 1755-1775, with outstanding patination and color. Great Britain. PROVENANCE: The estate of a well-known Vermont collector, connoisseur, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. CONDITION: Excellent. The chairs have exceptional color with a rich, deep, and lusturous patina, saturated with a nut brown glow. The pair are covered in a “pear” green silk fabric.

An unusually handsome late eighteenth century Georgian Mahogany Chest on Chest with a "Doric" order dental molding, above fretwork cornice, chamfered corners with additional fretwork, with ogee bracket feet and a brushing slide. The chest closely parallels a "Double Chest of Drawers" shown in an elevation from George Hepplewhite's "Cabinet-Makers and Upholsterer's Guide". Height 73 1/2, Width 44, Depth 23.
