A very rare Southern Federal mahogany secretary, circa 1815-1820 from South Carolina, most likely made in Georgetown, in exceptional condition, with the brass pulls being the only replacement or alteration. Undisturbed case pieces from the American South, such as this secretary, are relatively rare, particularly those that survive from areas outside of major urban centers.

An American Federal "D" Front Inlaid Card Table, possibly New York, or Southern, Scottish school of cabinetmakers, circa 1800.
MATERIALS: Mahogany, mahogany veneers, eastern white pine (frame), birch (fly rail)**, various light colored inlays, brass and steel. All by visual analysis. Microscopy report pending.
CONDITION: Exceptional. Minor repair to stress crack at the top of the upper left leg. Minor losses to the stringing, old, honey colored finish, with mellow patination.
