A very good pair of American Gothic mahogany side chairs, likely New York, circa 1840-1850. NOTES: The front stretcher of each chair is branded with Roman numerals, VI and VII on the other. The seat frames are covered in Kravet fabric. CONDITION: Excellent. No repairs of note. The finish on these chairs has not been tested, but it is presumed to be original, with a very mild, professional, and light application of French shellac polish. DIMENSIONS: 33, Depth 16, Width 18.

INTRODUCTION: A refreshingly uncommon, innovative, and possibly unprecedented American Classical mahogany serving table from the city of Philadelphia, circa 1830-1835, with exceptionally strong connections with the workshop of Anthony Gabriel Quervelle (1789-1856).
