A fine Scottish George III mahogany and inlaid swell-front or bowfront chest of drawers, with a central drawer urn and floral shaded inlay, circa 1785-1795. The bureau has a thumb-molded top and is comprised of three top drawers and three lower graduated drawers. The whole case sits of on bracket feet. Excellent color, outstanding patina, and finish. PROVENANCE: The estate of a well-known Vermont collector, connoisseur, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. CONDITION: Excellent. The chairs have exceptional color with a rich, deep, and lusturous patina, saturated with a nut brown glow. The pair are covered in a “pear” green silk fabric.
