| An important labeled New York City Federal mahogany Pembroke table, bearing the original label of Charles Christian, circa 1810-1815 This table was formerly property of Mr. Ronald S. Kane, a prominent and profoundly influential collector of American Federal and Classical furniture and decorative arts. Mr. Kane assembled his collection under the guidance of such prodigious curators and historians as Berry B. Tracy and Edward Vason Jones. The present table was sold to Mr. Kane by Mr. John Walton and was part of a landmark auction of Kane’s collection held at Christie’s, in New York City, 22nd January 1994 | ||
