A pair of George III Three-Arm Crystal Wall Sconces
A very fine pair of George III three-arm sconces, with pineapple finials, circa 1790-1810 This important pair of Anglo-Irish sconces are comprised of colorless lead crystal, which is hand-blown, and features crystal drops cascading from glass collars. The three arms of each light are notch-cut. The candle-cups have unturned rims with vandyke holders. The brass fittings are numerically stamped. Overall excellent condition. One candle-cup was professionally replicated. The lead glass has nicely aged producing an oxidized color of great appeal. Very minor and expected chips to some of the original prisms. A fine offering. Related examples exist in the collection of H.F. DuPonts Winterthur. Height 28, Width 17, Depth 11.
