It is finely inlaid with gold decorations on sides, gold and shakudo Maple trees with leaves, and clouds; a few leaves are low relieved and are made from shakudo. There is also two low relieved shakudo and gold inlaid pair of shishi and Paradise birds. The interior of the box is made with silver. The sides of the box has symbolic ornaments and yin-yang marks. The background of the box , the interior and the exterior are made with dark brown, almost black lacquer It has a minimum wear to the edges.
