This is magnificent diamond shaped gosu-blue Satsuma lidded Jar on an original wood hand-carved base. The Jar has a final in a shape Bamboo trunk under snow, and symbolic floral decorations over the top and the lid. It depicts scenes of Kirin under a tree with a scroll on a back, Buddhist drum with a mon , flying Paradise birds and flowers, and fragments of fences with flowers. It has very fine symbolic decorations on a lid, a beautifully hand-painted nose, a panoramic round scroll and four fan-shaped smaller scrolls on sides. This is Japanese circa 1900 magnificent Japanese Vase by ITO TOZAN. It has Satsuma -like color and glaze craquelure with partly raised decorative gold stripes and flower blossoms. This is a one of the most beautiful example of early KINKOZAN works of Meiji, made together with a famous painter GAKO (whose seal and signature is on the bottom) Satsuma low bowl.The bowl is made in a shape of 22-leaf Chrysanthemum and is finely decorated with various maple leaves and flowers that are so detailed that makes it hard to describe. The Vase is finely decorated with two shields which depict seven samurai (one is on a horse), and a scene of three aristocrats, twelve people, five children, a dog , and a landscape with mt. Fuji. This is a rare Japanese Kinkozan signed Satsuma with eight samurai sword Tsubas (for katana and wakizashi). Tsubas are finely decorated with scenes of birds, trees , grass, floral decorations, mushrooms, Bamboo,and cranes. The background of the vase is finely decorated with gosu blue color enameling.
