Japanese Meiji Period (19th century) big and fine Satsuma Koro (Incense Burner ) with a big sculpture of Shishi on top of a lid. Two handles over the sides of the Koro are made in a shape of beasts . The feet have symbolic decorations and two sides with handles have decorations and clouds, there are two big shields, one with an aristocrat old man (probably a teacher) and children (students) , with fence and mountains on the background.

Top quality Japanese Meiji Period (19th century) tripod Satsuma Teapot with a leaf-shaped shields , decorated with a scene of 6 aristocrats over the interior of the house and another one with a lady and 4 samurai over landscape with a tree and mountains, and a marquee on a background. The rest of the teapot has fine hand-painted decorations. A nose and handle mounts as well as the bottom of the teapot have symbolic decorations.
The Teapot is signed.
It is 4" D x 1 3/4" tall
