Japanese late Meiji - early Taisho (1912-1915) wood lacquer box with finely lacquer raised and painted low relief life-like color birds seated on a tree with life-like leaves. The sides of the box has symbolic ornaments and yin-yang marks. The background of the box , the interior and the exterior are made with dark brown, almost black lacquer It has a minimum wear to the edges.
